about justin tosch
From the beginning.
It all started when I was a kid. I was fortunate to have a family that valued photography. We have thousands of old photos from before the digital age. It started when I was curious at around age 9, picking up a camera and playing with it. I learned on an old manual SLR Nikon. In Highschool, I took photography courses and learned how to develop my own film. Sadly, all of the photos I once had were damaged in a flood, never to be seen again. I have a few photos from a trip to Paris when I was 11 years old that managed to survive. One of my most memorable photos ever taken was one of a gargoyle up top of Cathedrale Nortre Dame – it appeared as if it were biting the top of the Eiffel Tower.
Anyway, that’s kind of where it all started. I photographed a lot of landscape and flowers when I was in Highschool. I never thought to photograph people, it didn’t particularly interest me. I was very interested in Macro photography. I have always been a more close-in type of photographer, and even today that shows in my regular work.
